Bold thinking needed

To The Eagle,

My concern is that while the town struggles financially, leadership appears disengaged. We are watching this county slowly decline, and yet the response seems to be silence, or worse, budget cuts that hurt working people. Cutting jobs and focusing only on saving money is not the solution. We’re already operating on the bare minimum, and continuing down this path will only weaken us further.

What we need now is bold thinking. This county needs to generate income, create opportunities, invest in what we have, and produce things that bring in money. We have a beautiful waterfront that could be a major summer attraction, yet it remains underutilized. That’s wasted potential.

The current thinking is too narrow. We need to open our minds to running this county like a business, one that’s built to grow, not just survive. Eyes need to open before it’s too late. We can’t cut our way to prosperity, we have to build it.
