The Wahkiakum County Eagle - Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891

There are still slots available in AARP's Driver Safety Program being held in Cathlamet on April 27-28, sponsored by Wahkiakum County Health and Human Services. The eight hour program is being held at the River Street Meeting Room in Cathlamet from 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. each day. People of any age are welcome to attend; all participants must bring a valid drivers license.

A certificate will be issued to all participants upon completion. This certificate is recognized by most insurance companies for a discount on auto insurance for those 55 and over. Anyone who has not taken the course within two years should take it again to qualify for the discount.

Cost is $14 to cover class materials for AARP members, who must bring their membership number and $16 to non-members. Checks should be made out to AARP and mailed to Wahkiakum County Health and Human Services, 42 Elochoman Valley Road, Cathlamet, WA 98612.
