Sheriff's Report - June 23, 2011

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

June 13--11:01 a.m. An officer was asked to come to a Main Street location where a vehicle had backed into another vehicle while parking. 6:13 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a man with a possible diabetic problem.

June 14--1:03 p.m. A caller reported a burglary at a Grays River address. 1:47 p.m. A caller reported someone had forged a check. 2:09 p.m. A caller reported hypodermic needles were washing up on Hornstra's Beach. 3:27 p.m. A caller reported that two vehicles had collided in a Cathlamet parking lot. 5:40 p.m. A caller reported that someone had torn up a gravel parking lot on Puget Island. 6:12 p.m. A motorist reported that someone with a slingshot was shooting rocks at cars in Cathlamet. 6:19 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet man with tightness in his chest.


June 15--1:03 p.m. A caller reported a 12-year-old girl had run away from a Cathlamet residence; an officer learned that she had gone to visit a relative. 2 p.m. A caller reported a 12-year-old boy had used the county bus service to go to Longview without permission; he was located, and his mother went to get him. 4:27 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported finding and securing a skiff that was floating in the river. 9:28 p.m. A caller reported smelling drugs at a building in Cathlamet; an officer investigated and said the report was unfounded.


June 16--9:35 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a man injured in a fall at a Commercial Street address. 2:16 p.m. A caller reported that two cars had collided on Front Street in Cathlamet. 9:21 p.m. A caller reported that people apparently had a truck stuck at the intersection of the Deep River Mainline and Salmon Creek Road; an officer investigated.

June 17--9:26 a.m. A caller reported someone had driven onto the East Sunny Sands beach and parked the vehicle; the caller was told that the vehicle had violated no laws. 1:37 p.m. An officer arrested a person for driving while his license was suspended. 2:22 p.m. A caller reported that a person was violating a court order; an officer investigated. 3:31 p.m. A caller reported a theft; an officer investigated.

June 18--8:29 a.m. A West Birnie Slough Road resident reported that a neighbor's dogs were loose and coming onto her property. 4:05 p.m. A caller reported that a habitually drunken driver was driving in the county in a red van; an officer was unable to locate the driver. 5:08 p.m. A caller reported a domestic disturbance at a Rosedale residence; a deputy responded. 5:53 p.m. A caller reported that a person wanted on several outstanding warrants was in Skamokawa Vista Park; a deputy was unable to locate the individual. 6:27 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and Lifeflight helicopter responded to aid a Cathlamet man with a neck problem. 7:39 p.m. Two Morgan Drive residents reported a theft of gasoline; a deputy investigated.
