The Tsuga Gallery in Cathlamet will be closing at the end of this month for building updates and modifications. Artists will remove their work until the reopening in November. With the addition of new flooring, painting and rearranging of some of the walls, it was decided by members to close the gallery with September 30 being the last day the gallery is open for sales. The gallery will be open from noon to 4 p.m. and play host to a reception for the Wahkiakum Family Health Center's new doctor and manager from 4 to 6 p.m.

The hours of operation for the remainder of the month will be Thursday through Sunday, noon to 7 p.m.

Last chance to buy raffle tickets for beef

The Fair Foundation will be at the Farmers Market this Friday selling raffle tickets for its half beef raffle. The drawing for the winner will be on October 1. The Angus beef, donated by Gary and Martha Backman, will be ready to process in October. The winner of the raffle is responsible for the cut and wrap cost.

There will also be brochures available for the foundation’s Spring Bulb fund raiser. The bulb order will be placed the middle of October and bulbs will be back for planting in late October, early November for beautiful color in your Spring garden.

The fair foundation is a separate entity from the Wahkiakum fair board. The foundation is made up of volunteers who are willing to do fund raising for projects at the county fairgrounds. The next Foundation meeting will be held on October 4, 7 p.m. at the Skamokawa Landing Meeting Room. The meetings are open to the public and the foundation is looking for new volunteers to help with future fund raising activities.

Those not attending the market may contact foundation members Kay Walters, Lore Twiet or Patty Dursteler for tickets. Tickets are also available at PJ's Pizza, in Cathlamet.
