Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

January 23--10:52 a.m. Deputies served a warrant on a Beaver Creek Road resident; one person was taken into custody. 12:52 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle was partially blocking Hoikka Road. It was tagged for 24 hour removal. 1:13 p.m. Deputies served a warrant on an Eden Valley Road resident; one person was taken into custody. 3:00 p.m. A Greenwood Road resident reported being assaulted. Deputies responded and took a man into custody.

January 24--7:31 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to help an Alder Street resident who was having breathing difficulties. 2:36 p.m. A caller reported the Elochoman River had broken its banks. 6:19 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a 30-year-old woman who had fallen down stairs. 6:25 p.m. A caller reported a fallen tree was blocking Mill Road.

January 25--4:07 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Chester Street resident who was having breathing difficulties. 5:24 p.m. A Blue Skies Lane resident reported being harassed. 5:36 p.m. A caller reported an accident at the entrance to Vista Park. State Patrol was notified.

January 26--10:26 a.m. An Elochoman Valley Road resident reported the theft of a road sign. 12:21 p.m. A West Sunny Sands Road resident reported a possible case of child abuse. A deputy investigated. 6:47 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an 88 year old man who had fallen.

January 27--8:59 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Jacobson Road resident who had fallen. 9:06 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a man who was complaining of numbness on one side of his body. 12:54 p.m. A caller reported someone had dumped a large amount of garbage at the intersection of Cross Dike and North Welcome Slough Roads. 2:17 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an East Valley Road resident who was having a seizure. 4:54 p.m. A South 3rd Street resident reported the theft of a cell phone. The phone was later retrieved from a Columbia Street residence.

January 28--9:43 p.m. A caller reported shots being fired on Price Island close to houses. State patrol was notified. 2:18 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an East Road resident who was having breathing difficulty. 2:40 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 78-year-old man who was in cardiac arrest. 2:45 p.m. An Orchard Road resident reported receiving harassing phone calls about a possible lottery win. 10:55 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Jacobson Road resident who was having chest pains.

January 29--8:31 a.m. An Eden Valley Road resident reported a downed tree was blocking the road, the county road crew responded. 6:36 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Main Street address to aid a person who had fallen.
