How much do you really know about the Constitution of the United States? Why was it adopted and how has it been changing? Here is a unique opportunity to attend a one day seminar presented by the National Center for Constitutional Studies called The Making of America. The seminar will be held on April 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Johnson Park in the Grays River Valley Center. The cost is $30 per person and includes a pocket constitution, and interactive study guide, as well as three very informative speakers.

The morning session is titled “Developing America’s Great Success Formula, an exploration that will trace the keys to the creation of our nation in modern times.

During the lunch break (a box lunch with a soft drink is included in the cost of the ticket) there will be a special speaker Trent England, with Freedom Foundation whose expertise is Constitutional law and history.

The afternoon session is titled “The Perfect Plan of Liberty” and takes a look at the solid political and economic principles from the preamble-through the amendments-to the Constitution.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day for breaks, muffins in the morning and cookies in the afternoon as well as water, coffee and tea. There is limited seating available so pre-registration and payment are required in advance. For more information, or to reserve your ticket, please call 503 640-8265. You can also call me at 360 465-2960.

The Wednesday Senior Lunch Bunch that meets at Rosburg Hall will enjoy clam chowder and smoked salmon chowder with crackers and dessert on the 29th.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays the Rosburg Senior Community lunches are sponsored by CAP and are served at the same location. Menus for the coming week include Thursday, the 23rd-barbecue beef sandwich, potato salad, Oregon bean medley, sliced oranges and peanut butter bars; Tuesday, February 28th-chicken chow mein, brown rice, stir-fry veggies, Mandarin oranges and lemon bars.
