Sheriff's Report - March 1, 2012

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

February 20--6:42 p.m. An East Malone Creek Road resident reported arguing with her sister who then took off in a Jeep Wrangler. A deputy made contact. 9:36 p.m. A deputy made a vehicle stop on SR4 at milepost 44. One person was taken into custody.

February 22--8:57 a.m. An East Birnie Slough resident reported a runaway juvenile. 10:59 a.m. A caller from Wahkiakum High School reported finding drugs. A deputy investigated and took one person into custody. 2:28 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Jacobson Road residence to aid a woman with abdominal pain. Life Flight was notified, but had to be cancelled due to weather concerns.

February 23--10:49 a.m. An Eden Valley Road resident reported two pit bulls were chasing cats. A deputy responded. 1:54 p.m. A caller reported a person had failed to check in for a commitment to finish a jail sentence at the county jail. 6:05 p.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported receiving death threats over the phone from her husband. The caller was given domestic violence rights and instructions on how to obtain a restraining order.


February 24--A Loop Road resident requested a deputy's assistance in removing a squatter from his property.

February 25--8:41 a.m. A West Sunny Sands Road resident reported cows loose. A deputy contacted the cows' owner. 12:28 p.m. A caller reported that a sudden hail storm had caused an Isuzu van to roll onto its side and into a ditch near the Puget Island bridge. The Department of Transportation was notified. 12:59 p.m. A caller reported a white Ford pickup had gone into a ditch at milepost 35 on SR 4. The driver was not injured and the vehicle was towed. 3:00 p.m. A Michael Street resident asked to speak to a deputy about obtaining a restraining order after being stalked and harassed via text message.


February 26--5:20 a.m. A caller reported two inches of snow had fallen on KM Mountain. State patrol and the DOT were advised. 9:47 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Crown Camp Road residence to aid an 89-year-old male with high blood pressure. 12:38 p.m. A Loop Road resident reported that the squatter on his property had returned and was vandalizing and ransacking buildings 11:11 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a 3rd Street residence to aid an 82-year-old female who had fallen.
