Sheriff's Report - August 16, 2012

 

August 16, 2012



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

August 6--10:45 a.m. A caller reported the theft of political signs from Elochoman Valley Road. A deputy made contact. 2:02 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Greenwood Road address to aid a woman who was vomiting. 6:21 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle abandoned at the end of Steamboat Slough Road. The occupants were located.10:30 p.m. A deputy made a vehicle stop on SR 4 near Elochoman Valley Road; one person was taken into custody.9:43 p.m. A caller reported that two vehicles had pulled into the hatchery and the occupants were behaving suspiciously. Deputies investigated.

August 7--11:25 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to an accident involving a motorcycle and a log truck. 11:46 a.m. A Middle Valley Road resident reported a burglary. Items taken included wood, a laptop and various prescribed medications. 3:12 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a West SR 4 address to aid a woman who was sick. 10:20 p.m. A Fern Hill Road resident reported two teenage boys had put plastic knives on his property laid out in swastikas and obscene symbols. A deputy was advised.

August 8--11:58 a.m. A Loop Road resident reported her neighbors were possibly shooting at her animals. A deputy was advised. At 9:58 p.m. The caller reported that her neighbors were firing shots and scaring her dog, and shining lights into her bedroom window. 10:17 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an Elochoman Valley Road residence to aid a 66-year-old woman who was possibly having a stroke. 5:50 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to Crown Camp Road to aid an adult male with unknown injuries who was being brought out from the woods.

August 9--6:18 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a West Little Island Road woman who felt like she was going to pass out. 11:56 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an East SR 4 residence to aid an elderly man who had fallen. 3:30 p.m. A caller reported that a woman had threatened to damage a portable toilet. 9:41 p.m. A caller reported that her handicapped granddaughter was possibly missing, along with a 42-year-old male who was known to carry a gun. A domestic violence advocate was notified and contact was made with a Wenatchee officer who stated the girl was at home and that her father had obtained a protection order that had not yet been served.

August 10--3:24 p.m. A Hill Drive resident reported juveniles were trespassing. 8:13 p.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported that a neighbor's dog was killing the caller's pets. A deputy made contact and gave the dog's owners a warning. 9:09 p.m. A Glen Lane resident reported that juveniles had been playing basketball into the late hours for several days. A deputy made contact and advised the juveniles to stop by 10 p.m.

August 11--6:17 a.m. A Cathlamet business reported a burglary; a safe was missing. 7:43 p.m. A Loop Road resident reported the theft of concrete blocks. 10:51 a.m. A Beaver Creek Road resident reported that her daughter had witnessed men unloading trees from a pick up truck. The caller was concerned after hearing reports of stolen trees from Longview. 1:16 p.m. A West Sunny Sands resident reported that a group of juveniles had broken into her house looking for ghosts. 4:55 p.m. A caller reported a drug transaction at a Cathlamet residence. A deputy responded but was unable to locate the suspects. 10:03 p.m. A Risk Road resident reported a possible case of poaching on government property. 10:14 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Columbia Street residence to aid a 37-year-old female who was having an allergic reaction to a bee sting. 10:41 p.m. A caller reported speeding and erratic driving near the fairgrounds, where a wedding party was being held.

August 12--10:25 a.m. An East Valley Road resident reported that ultra light planes were flying very low over the area. A deputy investigated. 6:39 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle in a ditch on SR 409 at Welcome Slough Road. A deputy was advised. 10:27 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a West SR 4 address to aid an 85-year-old female with abdominal pain.
