Sheriff's Report - September 6, 2012

 

September 6, 2012



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

August 27--9:27 a.m. A caller reported a two-car accident blocking one lane of SR 4 near Flandersville. State patrol was notified. 1:29 p.m. A caller reported the theft of a game camera from Duck Creek. 11:41 p.m. A Fairground Road resident reported that a cougar was near their house. State patrol was notified and the Department of Fish and Wildlife was contacted.

August 28--9:50 p.m. A caller from Astoria wanted to press kidnapping charges against two people for holding him against his will.

August 29--10:17 a.m. A caller reported a case of child sexual assault. 11:39 a.m. A caller reported an 8' boat had been found unoccupied on a jetty on the Columbia River. 12:19 p.m. A Columbia Street resident reported that a man was causing a disturbance. Mental health professionals were advised. A second call was received reporting a 37-year-old male with chest pain. 8:52 p.m. A deputy made a vehicle stop on SR 4 near Cathlamet. One person was taken into custody on a suspected DUI. State patrol was advised.

August 30--2:35 p.m. An Old Chestnut Drive resident reported that a neighbor had fired off three shots, frightening a guest of the caller's. A deputy made contact. 10:47 p.m. A Waranka Road resident reported that her ex-boyfriend was refusing to leave her property and had physically assaulted her. Deputies confirmed two warrants on the man and tased him in order to take him into custody.

August 31--5:02 p.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported that a woman was drunk and refusing to leave the residence. A deputy made contact. 10:25 p.m. A deputy made a vehicle stop on SR 4 near Elochoman Valley Road. The driver was taking into custody after the deputy ascertained that their license had been suspended in Oregon.

September 1--9:13 p.m. A caller reported that a man who had gotten an earlier ticket was walking down SR 4 and moving cones to block traffic. State patrol and deputies were unable to locate the man. 2:27 p.m. A caller reported that six juveniles were jumping off the Skamokawa Bridge. 2:35 p.m. An Altoona-Pillar Rock Road resident reported a case of theft. 2:41 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle stuck in a ditch had been rear-ended by a truck towing a boat. 4:38 p.m. A caller from Skamokawa Vista Park reported finding a two-year-old boy alone. The boy's sister claimed the boy and returned him to their campsite. 8:21 p.m. An East Valley Road resident reported being burgled. 9:00 p.m. A caller reported that an unoccupied vehicle had been left in a ditch and was partially blocking the westbound lane of SR 4 west of Johnson Park in Rosburg.
