Sheriff's Report - September 13, 2012

 

September 13, 2012



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

September 3--12:28 p.m. A South Welcome Slough Road resident reported that her son had stolen $100 from her room. 8:04 p.m. A caller reported that a box of antiques had been taken from a vacant 2nd Street house belonging to her mother. 9:36 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Cedar Lane address to aid a 68-year-old male who had gotten stuck between a bed and a chair.

September 4--3:09 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to Skamokawa Vista Park campground to aid a man who had a laceration to the hand.

September 5--2:00 p.m. A caller reported a pit bull was tied up at a Jacobson Road residence possibly without access to water. Deputies made contact with the owner. On visiting the residence the following day, they found the dog to have shelter, food and water and was being cared for by another person at the residence. 4:33 p.m. A caller reported that a commercial truck had intentionally driven through a roadworks job site and knocked over the traffic control devices. State patrol was notified.

September 6--11:43 a.m. A caller reported a possible puppy mill near the wildlife refuge, possibly with over 50 dogs. A deputy made contact and the Humane Society was notified. 3:34 p.m. A caller reported that two men were aiming bows and arrows at cows in a field in Grays River. 4:33 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a Satterlund Road address to aid a 74-year-old male who had had a stroke.

September 7--9:32 a.m. A caller reported that three chip trucks were driving aggressively, tailgating at high speed. 10:58 a.m. A South Welcome Slough Road resident requested to speak to an officer regarding problems with her father. 10:43 p.m. A deputy made a traffic stop at milepost 42 on SR 4 and issued a citation.

September 8--10:32 a.m. A caller reported a car accident on SR 4 at milepost 26 near Miller Road. State Patrol was notified. At 10:45 a.m., the Cathlamet ambulance responded to give aid. 4:25 p.m. A caller reported being chased by six dogs while he and his wife were walking on the road for the second time in a month. A deputy responded and found the loose dogs to be aggressive. The owner was contacted and advised to control them. 10:59 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 63-year-old woman who needed oxygen.

September 9--2:01 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Hill Drive resident who was having trouble breathing. 4:17 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a West Deep River Road resident with lower extremity pain. 4:41 p.m. A caller reported a possible vehicle fire near Rosburg. State patrol was notified. 6:48 p.m. A deputy made a vehicle stop on SR 4 near Elochoman Valley Road. One person was taken into custody.
