Run-Off Road Intersection Safety Projects – County Wide Guardrail

WAHKIAKUM COUNTY, WASHINGTON

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by the Board of County Commissioners of Wahkiakum County, Washington, at the Public Works Department, 3rd Floor, Wahkiakum County Courthouse, P.O. Box 97, Cathlamet, Washington 98612, until 11:00 A.M. local time on November 6, 2012, and will then and there be opened and publicly read for the Run-Off Road Intersection Safety Projects – County Wide Guardrail.

Project Description:

This project provides for the installation of guardrail at sixteen locations along County roads and construction of one retaining wall on Eden Valley Road.

All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier’s check, postal money order, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to Wahkiakum County. Bid security, other than bid bonds, submitted by unsuccessful bidders will be returned as soon as practicable after award of the contract.

The successful bidder will be required to execute a written Public Works Contract and to provide performance and payment bonds as described in the project specifications. Time for completion of this project shall be 45 working days beginning on the first working day following the 6th calendar day after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed, as per the project special provisions.

Wahkiakum County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities in the bidding and to award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder.
