Sheriff's Report - October 18, 2012

 

October 18, 2012



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

October 8--12:29 p.m. A West Sunny Sands resident reported that a homeless man had been camping in a lot on Puget Island and refused to leave. A deputy was advised. 12:42 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Jacobson Street residence to aid a woman with chest pain. 3:23 p.m. A Little Cape Horn resident reported that their 18-year-old daughter was causing a disturbance. 3:54 p.m. A Middle Valley Road resident reported that a school bus driver had accused a juvenile of drinking on the bus and wanted to talk to a deputy. 4:02 p.m. A caller reported that his nephew was selling drugs from a Salmon Creek Road residence. A deputy responded and found illegal substances in the bedroom. 4:49 p.m. The Grays River ambulance and fire department responded to an Altoona-Pillar Rock Road address to aid a 76-year-old female with chest pain. 7:56 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an East Little Island Road residence to aid a 26-year-old female with complications from diabetes. 10:45 p.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported that someone had set fire to a political sign in his garden. 10:53 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a Fairview Road residence to aid a 65-year-old man who was having a seizure.

October 9--7:57 a.m. A caller reported that a loose horse was causing traffic problems on Upper Naselle Road. Deputies were advised and contacted the owners. 8:14 a.m. An East Birnie Slough Road resident reported that a bull was running loose. 8:29 a.m. A caller reported the theft of two spans of copper wire from the Foster Road bridge area. 9:09 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the health clinic to aid a 21-year-old male with chest pain. 5:45 p.m. A Middle Valley Road resident reported that her 15-year-old daughter had been solicited by a 20-year-old male for sex. A deputy responded and contacted a sexual assault advocate. 6:50 p.m. Deputies, the Cathlamet ambulance, and the Puget Island fire department responded after an East Birnie Slough Road resident reported that a tree had fallen on two people seriously injuring them. The responders were unable to locate the accident scene and it was later established that the caller had been hallucinating. 11:15 p.m. Deputies and the Cathlamet fire department responded to the grade school after a caller heard a beeping alarm. It was later established that the alarm was broken.

October 10--5:34 p.m. A South 2nd Street resident reported a burglary in which medication had been stolen.

October 11--9 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a 3rd Street address to aid an 82-year-old woman who had fallen. 12:36 p.m. A South Welcome Slough Road resident reported that someone was dumping garbage in their front yard. A deputy made contact. 5:20 p.m. A caller reported finding possible stolen belongings including jewelry, personal papers, photographs and a credit card in woods on the Deep River Main Line near Salmon Creek Road. A deputy was advised. 10:00 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Columbia Street address to aid a man who had been stung by a bee.

October 12--2:50 p.m. A caller reported possibly seeing a wanted fugitive exit woods on foot near the Astoria-Megler Bridge and head towards Ilwaco. 8:15 a.m. A caller reported that an East SR 4 business had been burgled the previous night. A deputy was advised. 9 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a 3rd Street address to aid an 85-year-old woman who had fallen. 11:16 p.m. A caller reported the theft of realty signs in the Eagle Cliff Estate area. 11:30 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Jacobson Road address to aid a diabetic woman who had severely high blood sugar.

October 13--12:49 a.m. Deputy assistance was required from Kelso police department in informing a woman that her daughter had been arrested on suspicion of theft. A deputy made contact with the mother. 5:36 p.m. A Delores Drive resident reported that she and her sons were being threatened and verbally abused. A deputy made contact and carried out drive-bys. The caller was advised to get a no contact order. 7:51 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Middle Valley Road address to aid a 35-year-old woman who was having a seizure. 8:43 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Fairground Road address to aid a woman who was bleeding from the stomach. 9:59 p.m. Deputies, the District 4 fire department and the Cathlamet ambulance responded after a caller reported hearing a car accident on SR 4 near Flandersville.
