Sheriff's Report - November 8, 2012

 

November 8, 2012



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

October 29--5:34 a.m. A woman reported her neighbor had been trespassing on her property, unlocking latches on her horse gates, tipping over watering tubs and passing around petitions. Another neighbor accused the same man of putting up harrassing signs when her husband was out but taking them down before he got home. A deputy was advised. 10:03 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 80-year-old man who had fallen. 8:33 p.m. A caller reported that a man was acting suspiciously outside her house. Deputies investigated before receiving a call from the marina to say the man was causing a disturbance there. Deputies responded and the man returned to his designated camping area.

October 30-- A West SR 4 resident reported that someone was using her identity to obtain satellite services. 11:45 p.m. A caller reported that a tree was down on SR 4 near the county line and was blocking both lanes. The Department of Transportation was notified.

October 31--4:26 a.m. A Clover Street resident called to say that he was suicidal. Deputies were advised and the man was given the contact number of a mental health professional. 8:18 a.m. An East Birnie Slough Road resident reported that a 17-year-old boy was causing a domestic disturbance. 11:08 a.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported that she was suicidal. Mental Health personnel were advised. 1:13 p.m. A Salmon Creek Road resident called for assistance in removing her sister from her house. One person was taken into custody. 1:37 p.m. A Salmon Creek Road resident reported that his cousin had packed all of the caller's belongings and placed them outside the home. The caller claimed to still be living at the home and paying rent. 3:38 p.m. A West SR 4 resident reported that his neighbor was stealing from him. A deputy was advised. 4 p.m. A South 2nd Street resident reported that cars had been parked in such a way that she couldn't get at her mail box. 7:51 p.m. Deputies, the Cathlamet ambulance and a District #4 fire crew responded to a roll over car accident on SR 4 near Wallen Way. One woman was taken to a hospital. 9:44 p.m. A caller reported almost being egged by juveniles in a Jeep Cherokee on Columbia Street. 9:50 p.m. A caller reported a possible scam after emailing a woman in Battle Ground about cosmetic products. The caller was advised to cease contact. 10:58 p.m. A caller reported a man was acting suspiciously in the parking lot of a local church.

November 1--10:16 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a Hungry Highway address to aid a 72-year-old man who needed transport to the hospital. 12:45 p.m. A South Welcome Slough Road resident called to say that he was going to shoot his leg off before threatening to kill himself. A mental health professional was contacted. 2:38 p.m. A caller reported that friends had not returned a hire car that was rented in his name. A deputy made contact.

November 2--8:08 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an SR 409 address to aid a person who had fallen out of a chair. 10:07 a.m. A caller reported that a man and a dog were trapped on a sailboat that was travelling sideways in the ship channel at river marker 49. The man eventually regained control of the vessel. 9:02 p.m. A Clover Street resident reported that an 11-year-old girl was being violent towards her mother.

November 3-- 2:57 p.m. A Greenwood Road resident reported that someone had tried to break into his car. 8:22 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Fairgrounds Road address to aid a 63-year-old woman who was complaining of abdominal pain.

November 4--8:34 a.m. An East Valley Road resident reported that hunters were trespassing.
