Sheriff's Report - November 29, 2012

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

November 19—10:54 a.m. A caller reported a non-injury traffic accident along SR4 at Bjornsgard Road. One car was in the ditch. A deputy responded. 1:52 p.m. District #4 firefighters responded to a Flandersville Road address to aid a resident whose house was flooding due to a landslide. 3:02 p.m. Altoona-Pillar Rock Road was closed due to flooding. 3:57 p.m. A caller reported softball-sized rocks blocking the north side of SR4 near Nassa Point. State Patrol and the Department of Transportation (DOT) were notified. 5:08 p.m. SR4 was closed from Rosedale to Mill Creek Road due to rocks and water over the roadway in several places. 5:37 p.m. The Ferry Wahkiakum advised that it was shutting down due to flood conditions near the Westport dock. 7:11 p.m. Portions of Loop Road and Covered Bridge Road were closed due to flooding. 7:36 p.m. A caller reported a downed power line along Beaver Creek Road. A PUD crew responded, but could not locate the downed line. 8:57 p.m. DOT advised that it hoped to reopen SR4 by the morning after clearing four culverts. 9:26 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to a Jacobson Road address to aid a 64-year-old man with chest pain. Life Flight was contacted, but was grounded due to weather conditions.

November 20—12:46 a.m. A caller advised that a tree was blocking both lanes of SR4 at Stella. 7:30 a.m. A caller reported that they had hit an elk on SR4 near Alger Creek. 7:57 a.m. A caller requested patrols on Beaver Creek Road to monitor speeding vehicles. 10:34 a.m. A Greenwood Road resident reported a trespasser. 4:57 p.m. SR4 was reopened. 7:44 p.m. A South Third Street resident reported vandalism to a vehicle.

November 21—2:27 a.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported possible drug activity in the neighborhood. The caller also observed a possibly intoxicated person drive away from a residence. A deputy was advised. 10:15 a.m. A caller reported people were trespassing on Hancock Forest Management land in the Elochoman Valley.

November 22—3:04 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance was dispatched to aid an adult with abdominal pain along SR4 west of County Line Park.

November 23—10:07 p.m. A caller reported a domestic disturbance at an Oak Point Ridge Road address. A deputy determined there was probable cause to arrest a subject who had left the scene.

November 24—2:19 a.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to a Crown Camp Road residence to aid a man who was having a stroke. 3:18 a.m. A caller reported that a fallen tree was blocking the westbound lane of SR4 west of County Line Park. State Patrol and DOT were advised. 8:08 a.m. A Rosburg resident reported a burglary. A deputy responded and found no signs of forced entry. 12:30 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to a West SR4 address.1:14 p.m. A structure fire was reported at a South Third Street Address. Deputies and the Cathlamet Fire Department and Ambulance responded. 4:46 p.m. A trespasser was reported at a Jacobson Road address. A deputy responded. 7:32 p.m. A West Sunny Sands Road caller reported a domestic disturbance and requested help with removing a subject from her home. A deputy responded.

November 25—5:05 a.m A deputy located a 47-year-old male who had gotten lost in the forest. The deputy took the man to his vehicle. 10:26 a.m. A mental health professional responded to a Jacobson Road address to aid a woman who was suicidal. 2:54 p.m. A caller reported a motorcycle was headed westbound from County Line Park at a high rate of speed. 5:26 p.m. A water outage was reported along Michael Street. A city public works crew responded.

November 26—12:29 a.m. Cathlamet Ambulance responded to an East SR4 address to aid a two-year-old female who was ill. 8:54 a.m. An icy roadway was reported along Beaver Creek Road. A county road crew responded with de-icer.
