Sheriff's Report - December 6, 2012

 

December 6, 2012



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

 November 26--10:09 a.m. A caller reported that his wife had violated a no contact order. A deputy investigated. 12:11 p.m. A caller requested a deputy investigate a possible theft at the high school. 2:57 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman with a diabetic problem. 3:44 p.m. A caller reported a trespasser and asked that the person be removed from the premises.

 November 27—6:12 p.m. A woman reported that her 14-year-old son had not come home after school. A deputy investigated. 6:19 p.m. A caller reported a possible drug sale at the middle school. A deputy investigated.

 November 28—12:25 a.m. A water break was reported on West Sunny Sands Road. The PUD water crew was notified. 9:27 p.m. A woman reported that she had been bitten on the face and arm by a dog. A deputy investigated.

 November 29—3:50 a.m. The Grays River Ambulance responded to aid an 84-year-old male with breathing problems. 7:22 a.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to aid a 58-year-old male with chest pain. 8:01 a.m. A power outage was reported on Oneida Road. The PUD was notified. 8:41 a.m. Deputies, the Grays River Ambulance and Fire Department, and the Naselle Fire Department responded to the Fossil Creek mainline to a log truck accident. The driver required extrication from the vehicle. Life Flight landed at 10:23 a.m., and extrication was complete at 11:44 a.m. 12:53 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to aid a man with possible heart problems. 4:18 p.m. A caller reported a one car motor vehicle accident near the intersection of SR4 and Miller Point Road. The Grays River Ambulance and the State Patrol responded. 10:43 p.m. A caller reported that they had almost hit a black-clothed pedestrian walking east on SR4 near the school access road. State Patrol was advised. 11:34 p.m. A man stopped by the Sheriff’s Office to pick up a friend that had been released. Staff determined he was looking for the pedestrian walking along SR4 and advised him of his friend’s whereabouts.

 November 30—5:19 p.m. A caller reported that people had showed up late at night the past several nights and were using power tools on an adjacent property. A deputy investigated. 6:23 p.m. A caller reported a pickup driving westbound on SR4 near Nassa Point was driving slowly and weaving. State Patrol was advised. 6:26 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 63-year-old female with abdominal pain. 7:12 p.m. A caller reported seeing a woman walking along Altoona-Pillar Rock Road towards SR4. Deputies and the Grays River Ambulance responded after determining that the woman had been injured in a one-car motor vehicle accident.

 December 1—4:05 a.m. A caller reported a large tree had fallen and was blocking both lanes of SR4 east of KM Summit. A Department of Transportation crew responded. 12:13 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 63-year-old female with abdominal pain. 5:37 p.m. The State Patrol requested assistance with a possibly intoxicated driver near Elochoman Valley Road on SR4. 5:57 p.m. A caller reported a non-injury motor vehicle accident on SR4 west of County Line Park. A deputy responded.10:58 p.m. A caller reported a domestic dispute. A deputy responded, and one of the subjects agreed to leave the residence.

 December 2— 2:50 a.m. A caller reported her husband was overdue to return from a hunting trip and she could not reach him or his hunting companion via cell phone. The man called his wife at 3:34 a.m. to say his vehicle had broken down. 3:23 a.m. A State Patrol trooper reported that he had seen a suspicious person at Cathlamet Chevron and asked him to leave. 11 a.m. A caller reported that their neighbors were target shooting and the bullets were close to hitting the caller’s garage. 11:09 a.m. A caller reported that a Kawasaki motorcycle had been stolen from their porch the previous night. A deputy investigated. 6:12 p.m. A deputy took a person into custody after a traffic stop near the Rosburg Store.

 December 3—8:15 a.m. A 66-year-old male was found deceased. 9:58 a.m. A caller reported seeing suspicious men in a tree house. A deputy investigated. 10:32 a.m. A caller reported a suspected in-progress burglary; the suspected burglars were determined to be construction workers hired to work on the home.
