Lady Mules trample Winlock

The Lady Mules beat the Winlock Cardinals 60-20 at home in a Central League game on December 5.

The game had a slow start, but the Mules picked up speed and never looked back, as the Winlock team struggled all evening to score. At halftime, the Mules lead 33-11.

Maya Stanley led her team with 19 points and three assists. Baylee Olsen had 13 points. Kaylee Bryant scored 10 and pulled down six rebounds. Sam Boyce, scrappy and quick with the hands, had six steals. Boyce scored six points, Tori Wegdahl had four, Madison LaBerge three, Haylee Budd two, Jessica Thomas and Morgan Elliott each had one.

Coach Rob Garrett was pleased of the team. “I’m proud of the girls,” he said. “They played well in the second half against South Bend, and they played well in the first half against Naselle. Tonight they played a complete game.”

He singled out Baylee Olsen for her fine work on offense. “The defense was really focused on her and she did a good job of getting the ball back out to her teammates.”

The Mules travel to Morton/White Pass this Friday for the first of three games on the road. They head to South Bend on Monday and to Onalaska on December 19.
