Sheriff's Report - February 28, 2013

 

February 28, 2013



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of other reports during the past week, including:

February 18—11:27 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to treat a 77-year-old female with breathing problems. 1:22 p.m. A caller reported two goats standing in the middle of SR4 near Risk Road. State Patrol was notified. 11:07 p.m. A caller reported a woman walking near the intersection of SR4 and Elochoman Valley Road was not dressed for the weather and appeared to be incoherent. A deputy was unable to locate her.

February 19—1:12 p.m. A caller reported their vehicle had been stolen from a Puget Island residence. The vehicle was recovered and a man and a woman were taken into custody. 4:40 p.m. A caller reported juveniles skateboarding in the roadway. A deputy was advised. 6:21 p.m. A caller reported seeing a possible brush fire on a ridge near Fernhill Road. The sighting was determined to be equipment lights swinging around at a site where night logging was in progress. 9:43 p.m. A caller reported a loose horse standing in the middle of Elochoman Valley Road.

February 20—3:47 p.m. A caller reported rocks had fallen onto the roadway on East Valley Road. The county road department was notified.

February 21—2:00 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid an 18-year-old female who was having a seizure. 9:23 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a 54-year-old male who was experiencing chest pains. 10:49 a.m. A caller reported finding human remains near Brookfield. Further information was given elsewhere in the paper. 2:20 p.m. A caller reported a theft of property. 10:33 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an 80-year-old female with chest pain.

February 22—5:08 p.m. A caller reported a possible burglary after observing that a neighbor’s door appeared to have been kicked in. A deputy investigated and determined that the report was unfounded. 5:16 p.m. A caller reported finding a dog without a collar. The animal was later returned to its owner.

February 23—7:47 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 26-year-old female who was unconscious. 1:37 p.m. A caller reported finding a blind dog without a collar in the roadway. The animal was later returned to its owner. 2:16 p.m. A brief countywide power outage occurred. The issue was reported to the PUD, who advised that it had been a surge from the Bonneville power system and had been corrected. 6:52 p.m. District 4, Cathlamet, and Puget Island firefighters and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to an oven fire at a Morgan Drive residence. The fire was extinguished. 10:08 p.m. One person was taken into custody on a misdemeanor warrant after a traffic stop on Puget Island.

February 25—4:05 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 37-year-old male who was experiencing difficulty breathing. 5:09 a.m. A caller reported that a small tree had fallen and was partially blocking Una Avenue near PJ’s Pizza. The town public works department was notified. 7:29 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 26-year-old female with chest pain.
