Sheriff's Report - June 13, 2013

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

June 3—9:22 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to treat a person with pain in their side and flu-like symptoms. 11:08 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to treat a woman who was seizing. She was transported to a hospital via LifeFlight. 12:06 p.m. A caller reported that their office’s sign had been vandalized. 1:19 p.m. A caller reported seeing a sinking sailboat. The boat’s owner was contacted. 6:58 p.m. A caller reported that a disabled vehicle was blocking a lane of SR4 west of Nassa Point. The vehicle was gone when a deputy arrived. 9:32 p.m. A caller reported a non-injury vehicle collision with a deer west of Seal River Road along SR4. State Patrol was advised.

June 4—10:49 a.m. A deputy and a mental health professional responded to aid a woman who was suicidal. 3:23 p.m. A caller reported that their neighbor’s dogs were a nuisance due to constant barking.

June 5—6:30 a.m. A caller reported that $160 worth of gas had been stolen earlier in the week. 10:04 a.m. Deputies conducted a diving operation in an attempt to recover evidence. 2:57 p.m. A caller reported a fraud attempt. 3:00 p.m. A caller requested an officer to assist with an angry patient. 4:13 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had been stolen. An officer investigated and determined that the person who took the vehicle had been given permission. 6:46 p.m. A caller reported receiving a suspicious message from an out-of-area number. A deputy contacted that city’s police department. 6:49 p.m. A caller reported feeling suicidal. A mental health professional responded. 9:51 p.m. A caller reported seeing a flare set off by a boat that had run aground near the east end of Wallace Island. The Coast Guard was contacted. Coast Guard personnel responded to the scene with a helicopter and a motor response boat.

June 6—6:23 a.m. A caller reported that a mentally ill family member was in need of help. A mental health professional responded to the scene. 8:33 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to treat a woman who had fallen. 12:54 p.m. A caller headed westbound on SR4 reported that they were being tailgated by a chip truck. A deputy responded and pulled the vehicle over.

June 7—4:18 p.m. A subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant. 5:16 p.m. A caller reported possible child abuse.

June 8—10:05 a.m. A caller reported a missing person. 3:49 p.m. A caller reported that a fallen alder tree was blocking one lane of Elochoman Valley Road. The county road crew responded and cleared the road.

June 9—1:04 a.m. A caller reported that his tenant had contacted him about a disturbance in the yard of a rental property. A deputy responded and transported a man to another residence. 11:18 a.m. A caller reported that a water main that had been hit was spraying water along Schoolhouse Road. The PUD water crew responded and repaired the leak. 11:23 a.m. A caller reported a domestic disturbance. Cowlitz authorities performed a welfare check at the residence. 5:37 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 69-year-old woman who had fallen and sustained hip pain.
