The Wahkiakum Mule boys basketball team came from behind to topple league foe Onalaska last Wednesday night, beating the third-placed Loggers 50-44.
The Mules entered the final quarter trailing by four points but they came out and hit three triples and went a perfect 8 for 8 from the line down the stretch to outscore the Loggers 17-7.
Shane Souvenir spearheaded the Mules’ offense with 22 points and corralled a team high seven rebounds. Souvenir also blocked six Onalaska shots.
Seth Doumit contributed eight points, six assists and two steals in the win, while Gunnar Blix and Brandon Budd chipped in seven points apiece. Blix also collected five rebounds. Austin Good tallied four points and four assists and Travis Wegdahl rounded out the scoring with two points. Wegdahl also handed out five assists and picked up five rebounds.
The Mules host the Toutle Lake Ducks on Friday in their last home game of the season. They close out the regular season on Saturday at Adna. District tournament play starts February 13.
