The Clatskanie Arts Commission is kicking off its 36th Performing Arts Series with the annual free concert Big Band in the Park on Labor Day (Sept. 1) from 2-4 p.m. at Clatskanie City Park (35 Park St.). Thanks to the generous support of Donna Garlock, the North Coast Big Band will again be performing.
Performances at the Birkenfeld Theatre in Clatskanie will begin on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m. with a performance by JACA. The award-winning clarinet/guitar duo combines world music, virtuosity, and humor to bring an adventurous, passionate, and completely original musical style to the stage.
On Saturday, Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m., dance will take the main stage with Project Convergence. An American dance company, Project Convergence is home to the union of the Bharatanatyam and American tap dance. This program will simultaneously unite Indian and African-American cultures in the universal language of rhythm and tap.
On Sunday, Dec. 7, at 3 p.m., the sounds of John Denver will come to the stage with Rocky Mountain Christmas. What a great way for young and old to kick off the holiday season.
On Friday, Jan. 23, 2026 at 7:30 p.m., the vocal sounds of Alaska trio Pipeline Vocal Project will perform a contemporary show with genre-bends and musical time travel, covering songs by Bruno Mars, Billie Eilish, Charlie Puth, Lizzo, Khalid, Jason Derulo, Disney, and many more. The show promises to be fresh, energized, and nostalgic.
The Brownsmead Flats are back by popular demand. On Sunday, March 8 at 3 p.m., these fan favorites will be celebrating 40 years of playing music in the Pacific Northwest.
The season ends with a special concert by the Clatskanie Community Choir and Clatskanie Mid/High School Choir taking us through the past 100 years of music to celebrate the 100th birthday of the Clatskanie Cultural Center (IOOF Hall). This concert will be held on Sunday, April 19 at 3 p.m. Donations will be accepted for the marquee project.
