New pastor welcomed

October 9, 2014

Pastor David Martin was recently called to be the new Senior Pastor of Heritage Bible Church on Puget Island. “Pastor Dave” has 25 years experience in ministry, and recently served as the Pastor of Youth & Men’s Ministries at Christian Fellowship of Winlock. He previously served as a Youth Pastor in Cottonwood, Calif., and before that as a Junior High Pastor in Roseburg, Oregon.

Pastor Dave received his formal education from The Master's College, graduating in 1991. He has continued training through conferences, online resources, on the job training, and especially through the teaching podcasts of other pastors such as Mark Driscoll, Greg Laurie, John MacArthur, and James MacDonald.

David met his wife Teresa when she moved next door to him. He literally married the “girl next door” on May 18, 1991. They have four children: Andrew (18), Ashley (16), Michael (13), and Daniel (11).

David loves to talk about creationism. He enjoys ministries such as Answers in Genesis, which give him insight on how God made the Earth and all that is within it. David likes to hunt, to watch football, and to spend time with his kids.

The Martin Family is excited to be a new part of Puget Island and Cathlamet. They look forward to getting to know the people of their church, schools, and community.
