August 6, 2015



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

July 28 — 8:30 a.m. A Cathlamet resident complained that a neighbor’s dog had damaged her property while attempting to attack her dogs. 10:45 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident found broken glass all over her driveway and was concerned that it was done maliciously by a neighbor who had assaulted her previously. 11:56 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that she had been charged by a business after canceling a reservation. She was advised to contact her bank to dispute the charge. 12:51 p.m. The Grays River Fire Department responded to the report of a Grays River field on fire in three places. The fire was extinguished. 2:09 p.m. A visitor at the marina reported that his trailer lights had been stolen. 3:12 p.m. A Puget Island resident requested the removal of a junk vehicle and an abandoned motorhome. 7:17 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Rosedale home.

July 29 — 10:10 a.m. A caller reported being threatened by a dog that had gotten out of its yard on Puget Island. The owner was advised to extend the height of her fence. 12:24 p.m. A driver was taken into custody after failing a field sobriety test on Puget Island. 12:28 p.m. A Cathlamet resident asked to talk to an officer regarding her neighbor’s dog. 1:41 p.m. A Grays River resident reported that his neighbor’s cattle were on his property. 1:46 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver on Puget Island. 2:42 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a bicycle had been stolen. 3:35 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a bicycle accident on Puget Island. 5:12 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Rosedale residence. 5:13 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Puget Island address. 8:13 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident with a diabetic emergency.

July 30 — 12:56 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Puget Island residence. 8:16 a.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in Cathlamet. It was a false alarm. 9:42 a.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to a smoke alert at a Cathlamet address. 1:28 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Rosedale address. The alarm was canceled. 4:37 p.m. An individual was taken into custody in Skamokawa. 10:43 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an elderly woman in Cathlamet who was having difficulty breathing.

July 31— 8:14 a.m. A caller was concerned about a dog that had been left behind when his owner went to the hospital. 10:01 a.m. A caller reported that someone had broken into a home in Rosedale. An individual was taken into custody. 10:50 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a pregnant woman with chest pain to the hospital.

August 1 — 12:44 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an elderly Rosedale resident who had fallen. 1:08 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported a disturbance. An individual was taken into custody. 9:26 a.m. A Rosburg resident reported that a caller had left a threat on her answering machine. 10:12 a.m. A caller reported a dog running loose near SR 4 in the Rosedale area. 11:54 a.m. A caller found an open door and a broken door frame on a building on KM. 12:43 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Rosedale address. 3:18 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with abdominal pain. 5:52 p.m. A Beaver Creek resident reported that someone had trespassed on his property and stripped the bark from some of his trees. 7:25 p.m. A caller reported finding a wallet. 8:31 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported a suspicious truck on a logging road where a no trespassing sign was posted. 10:05 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported hearing two loud booms which shook her house. Two more calls were received from neighbors. The responsible party was contacted. 10:56 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported an explosion east of her home. 11:16 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported that her dog was missing and possibly stolen.

August 2 — 3:41 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a vehicle had sped past her house and struck the neighbor’s home before speeding off. A deputy investigated and found damage to a power box, trailer, motorcycle and shop. 5:35 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that an unknown and disoriented woman had come to her home. A deputy responded, and a representative from the mental health department was en route. 10:22 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an unconscious Puget Island resident. 11:49 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported finding a deceased deer in his yard. 12:06 p.m. A caller was concerned that an intoxicated individual was going to drive. Deputies made contact with the individual. He surrendered his keys and was advised to sleep in his van until he was sober. 1:32 p.m. A caller reported kids blocking a Skamokawa road. 2:36 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who had abdominal pain. 7:27 p.m. A caller reported people drinking and doing donuts in a boat on Deep River. An individual was taken into custody.

August 3 — 12:02 a.m. A caller reported that he had received a message from a friend who was threatening to jump off a bridge. The individual was located, and a mental health professional responded.
