Friends of Skamokawa is announcing their annual fundraiser gala, “A Cornucopia of Wines” to be held September 12 at the Skamokawa Grange. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

This fun event draws visitors from throughout the Northwest. There will be fine wines to sample with appetizers and dessert treats. Catering will be provided by the Skamokawa Farmstead Creamery.

Join them for a spirited evening of bidding on a bevy of silent and open auction items including getaways to great local bed and breakfasts, paintings, ceramics, blown glass, gift baskets, river kayaking, gift certificates to local businesses and much more. Auctioneer Brian McClain will preside over the open auction. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.

This is the main fundraiser of the year with all funds directed to maintenance and operation of the “River Life Interpretative Center” at Redmen Hall. There will be a “paddle raise” during the evening to help fund a Memorial Garden on site at Redmen Hall.

Advance tickets for “A Cornucopia of Wines” are $15 each or $25 per couple and can be purchased at Bank of the Pacific in Cathlamet and The Skamokawa General Store in Skamokawa. Tickets sold at the door will be $20 each and $30 per couple.
