Skater offers appreciation

To The Eagle:
In light of the upcoming Cathlamet Downhill Corral this weekend, I want to say thank you to the people involved in raising money for the women's podium - not only for this year, but for last year as well.
I've been attending and competing at the event on and off since 2011, and 2014 drew more women than ever out to race and even just to skate for fun. Encouraging women to come out and compete is so crucial for the development of the skateboarding community, and I appreciate that the residents of Cathlamet are so extremely supportive.
I'm looking forward to being a guest at your town and racing in the Corral once again for 2015. I hope to see many of you out there!
