Sheriff's Report, January 21, 2016

 

January 21, 2016



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

January 11 — 12:58 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported a suspicious vehicle parked nearby. 3:51 p.m. A motorist reported an erratic driver headed westbound on SR 4 near Nassa Point.

January 12 — 5:36 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a young woman behaving strangely. The young woman had come to the door a couple times. She was without a coat and wearing shorts and had been playing in a mud puddle. A deputy responded and discovered that the young woman was missing from her home and had been behaving strangely all night. A representative from the mental health department was notified and en route. 7:03 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a young woman with hypothermia. 1:52 p.m. The sheriff’s office got a request to assist a Cowlitz County officer on the east side of the county. 3:28 p.m. Cowlitz County asked the sheriff’s office to be on the lookout for two suspects after an attempted abduction near the Triangle Center in Longview. 7:18 p.m. Dispatch attempted to call a Skamokawa residence when a 911 call was dropped due to static on the line. Investigation revealed that goats had chewed through the phone line. 10:40 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who was having chest pain and difficulty breathing.

January 13 — 3:03 a.m. A caller reported hearing shots fired in the Elochoman Valley. 5:42 a.m. A slide was reported on SR 4 near County Line Park. 10:10 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Puget Island resident. 10:36 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who was dizzy and having chest pain. 12:48 p.m. Pavement was missing from the Puget Island bridge. The Washington Department of Transportation was notified. 12:57 p.m. An alarm was activated at a residence on the east side of the county. 1:01 p.m. An officer was requested at a Rosedale home after a domestic disturbance was reported. 3 p.m. A fire hydrant in Cathlamet was damaged and out of service by what appeared to be a recent hit and run. 6 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that she had lost her debit card.

January 14 — 3:34 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported a recent theft at his property; said it had been an ongoing problem. 9:05 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who was in pain and required transport to the hospital. 10:14 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Puget Island residence to aid a woman who was unconscious. 11:27 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident.

January 15 — 12:29 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who had fallen in the shower. 12:44 p.m. A tree was down and blocking one lane of a Rosburg road.

January 16 — 12:14 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported hearing shots fired in a no shooting zone. 8:09 a.m. A Cathlamet resident was concerned about his daughter; she had mental issues and was not answering her phone. She was later located. 9:44 a.m. A Grays River resident reported that power seemed to be at a lower level than usual. The PUD was notified. 5:58 p.m. A domestic disturbance was reported at a Cathlamet home. 6:38 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Cathlamet resident. 10:38 p.m. A Cathlamet parent reported that a child was out well past her curfew. She was concerned that the child had run away and was at risk. The child came home at 4:05 a.m., according to the report.

January 17 — 3:44 a.m. The state patrol reported that they had responded to a one vehicle accident just west of County Line Park on SR 4. 7:41 a.m. A deputy was in pursuit of a speeding vehicle on Puget Island. The driver was given a citation. 11:47 a.m. Trees were down and blocking a Skamokawa road. 12:22 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a Grays River resident. A deputy made contact; the resident was fine. 1:31 p.m. A Cathlamet parent reported ongoing problems with a juvenile. A representative from the mental health department was contacted and agreed to address the issue. 3:38 p.m. A Beaver Creek resident reported that a debit card was being used fraudulently. A deputy advised her.
