Mona Ruth Starr, 87, of Cathlamet, died on January 22, 2016 in Selma CA . She was born on November 6, 1928 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to Harry and Ella Starr. She graduated from high school there in 1946.

She worked for First National Bank in Ontario, Calif., before starting her career at Bank of America where she worked from 1955-1984. She retired in 1984 and moved to Cathlamet from Redlands, Calif., in 1988. She enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing cards with the “Ladies.” Mona was an avid Seahawks and Mariners fan. She was a member of the former Elochoman Grange and the Tuesday Club.

Mona is survived by a brother, Harry Starr, Jr., a niece, Karen Grilione of Selma, Calif., and several other nieces and nephews and many friends. Mona was preceded by a brother, Joe Starr and two sisters, Frances Matray and Grace Ferguson. No service will be held at her request.
