Charlotte Hegstad

April 14, 2016

Charlotte Lee (Gibbons) Hegstad, 83, of Puget Island, passed away April 2, 2016, from natural causes at her home in Longview, Washington.

She was born September 13, 1932, to Earl and Nellie Gibbons of Camas, Washington and later moved to Cathlamet, Washington, where she and her husband would build their dream home on the Columbia River.

Charlotte was full of life, energy and always in search of the next adventure with her black lab Mollie. She loved traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family. She adored her "round-table discussions," playing Pinochle and visiting friends. Charlotte had a thirst for knowledge and in 1972 dedicated her life in service as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Through her study of the Bible, Charlotte took comfort in knowing that she would be reunited with her husband and loved-ones. She shared with everyone she met her hope of a resurrection.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, LeRoy "Sonny" Hesgtad, and her brother Richard Gibbons of Vancouver, Washington. She is survived by three daughters: Sandra Lynn (David) Germer of Longview, Washington; Cheryl Ann Shaw of Olympia, Washington; Virginia Lee (Nancy) Hamaker of Longview, Washington; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on April 30, 2016, at 3 p.m., at the Rainier Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 25531 Wonderly Road, Rainier, Oregon, 97048.
