April 14, 2016



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

April 4 — 7:59 p.m. A cow was found loose on a Cathlamet road. The owner was contacted.

April 5 — 7:43 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual in the Rosedale area who had severe bleeding. 8:39 a.m. A caller reported a driver doing donuts on the grass at the refuge. 12:31 p.m. A caller reported speeding log trucks in the Skamokawa area. 12:37 p.m. A local resident’s wallet was found in Yakima. 2:28 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that she had been harassed and threatened by a neighbor. 3:02 p.m. A caller reported being passed in a no passing zone on SR 4 in the Cathlamet area. 7:15 p.m. A caller was concerned about a homeless family camping on a Skamokawa beach. 8:06 p.m. A caller complained about youths skateboarding in a Cathlamet street. 10:26 p.m. Pacific County had received a call about an individual lying on the road near a bridge near Naselle. After checking all the local bridges and finding nothing, they called and asked deputies to check all the bridges in the Westend.

April 6 — 10:36 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident who was vomiting blood. 8:20 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an adult male who had cut himself in a skateboarding accident. 8:26 p.m. An individual camping at the Elochoman marina reported that he and his wife had been threatened and harassed by 12 other campers regarding a generator that they were using.

April 7 — 7:14 a.m. A caller reported that someone had vandalized his neighbor’s property with a bat. 1:12 p.m. A Grays River resident reported two abandoned vehicles on his property. 3:43 p.m. A caller reported that two horses had been left without any water in the Elochoman Valley. 10:04 p.m. An alarm was activated on the western Wahkiakum water system. The PUD was notified. 10:20 p.m. Some Grays River residents reported that power had gone out. The PUD responded and restored power. 10:37 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a Grays River home when the power went out and the resident did not have oxygen. 10:58 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident.

April 8 — 12:17 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident. 9:44 a.m. A caller reported that she had injured herself when she tripped on rebar at County Line Park. She was going to the hospital, but she wanted to make sure that it didn’t happen to anyone else. 4:59 p.m. A caller complained that someone had posted something on Facebook that wasn’t true. 6:46 p.m. A caller reported a trespasser on property in the Elochoman Valley. 7:17 p.m. A caller reported an angry motorist cutting people off on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 9:21 p.m. A caller reported a deceased deer in the middle of a Puget Island road.

April 9 — 8:54 a.m. A Puget Island resident said that her cat had been killed by a dog brought by an individual who had visited her home. 9:49 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the report of smoke at a Rosedale address. 11:58 a.m. A caller reported that a spare tire had been stolen at the Cathlamet marina. 1:56 p.m. An individual was taken into custody after violating a restraining order. 4:30 p.m. A Cathlamet resident found an unknown vehicle parked in his yard. 5:17 p.m. A caller reported three vehicles passing in a no passing zone near Skamokawa. 11:58 p.m. A deputy was requested for a walk through after an individual who had been involved in a fight two weeks earlier arrived at a Skamokawa business.

April 10 — 2:09 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported two individuals trespassing in his back yard. 9:21 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that his phone had been hacked. Despite advice to take his phone to his provider for inspection he remained convinced that his phone had been hacked and decided to go without one. 12:25 p.m. A caller requested a deputy stand by while she removed her items from a home in Skamokawa. 1:32 p.m. A caller reported a violation of a parenting plan. 7:44 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that her husband was holding a trespasser at gun point. An individual was taken into custody. 10:32 p.m. A caller reported that a door had been kicked in at a Skamokawa home and items had been taken.
