Librarian asks for community input

September 22, 2016

To The Eagle:

I want to draw our community’s attention to an important opportunity. From September 22 to October 21, 2016, the Cathlamet Public Library will be conducting surveys to better understand how our community benefits from Digital Resources, Preschool Story Times and Summer Reading Programs at the library. This information will help the library improve its computer and WI-FI services, and children’s services and communicate the value of providing these services.

The library currently has four public computer stations and public WI-FI.

Summer Reading programs are held annually with stories, games, crafts, experiments, and other activities.Thirty two children signed up for the 2016 Summer Reading Program held Wednesdays June 22-August 10, and 15 were able to meet their reading goals to win Reading Program t-shirts and certificates of completion.

We also offer a drop-in weekly Preschool Story Time every Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

People from all walks of life use library resources and services to perform routine and life-changing tasks, from emailing friends to finding jobs. In order for the library to meet our community’s needs and to demonstrate how providing these services make a difference, it’s important that we have this information at a local level. Please support the library and help improve digital and children’s services. Look on the Cathlamet Public Library website http://www.cathlamet.lib.wa.us at the home page slide show for links to take the surveys.
