Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

January 28 — 9:46 a.m. A caller reported two dogs in the middle of SR 4 in the Skamokawa area. 10:27 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Cathlamet resident. 2:44 p.m. A caller reported that a truck was blocking a lane of traffic on a Puget Island road. 5:27 p.m. Two students got into an altercation at a Cathlamet school. 6:26 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a child who was bleeding from an eye. 9:32 p.m. A Puget Island resident was concerned that three youths may have been trespassing on her property.

January 29 — 6:15 p.m. A caller was concerned about a man who had not returned from fishing. A few minutes later, the caller called back to report that he had returned. 7:20 p.m. An individual was taken into custody after an assault was reported at an Elochoman Valley home. 7:40 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a young man who had been reported missing in Longview was at her home. 8:28 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual who may have broken a finger.

January 30 — 12:20 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Greenwood resident with a swollen face. 8:06 a.m. A deputy was requested for a civil standby at an Elochoman Valley home. 11:57 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported two missing dogs. They were later located and the owner was notified. 1:30 p.m. A caller from a Cathlamet school asked to speak to a deputy about a child’s welfare. 6:53 p.m. A caller at a restaurant in Cathlamet asked for assistance after being assaulted by an inebriated patron. 9:26 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that someone had shoved a broom through one of their windows.

January 31 — 9:52 a.m. A caller reported speeding log trucks on a Deep River road. 10:04 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Elochoman Valley resident. 2:16 p.m. A caller reported that animals were being neglected at a Puget Island home. 4:57 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a pregnant Cathlamet resident who was having contractions to the hospital.

February 1 — 12:23 p.m. A caller reported a goat running along SR 4 in the Skamokawa area. 4:19 p.m. A parent was concerned after a child did not get on the bus after school. The child made contact a little later and the parents were en route to pick her up.

February 2 — 12:28 a.m. A couple reported that they would be staying in their car in a Rosedale parking lot until first light because between them, one did not have a license to drive and the other needed, but did not have, corrective lenses to drive. 11:24 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a Rosedale resident. A deputy and the Cathlamet ambulance responded.

February 3 — 11:48 a.m. A storage shed was damaged and several items were stolen in a burglary at an Elochoman Valley residence. 12:54 p.m. An Alger Creek resident reported that a restraining order had been violated.

February 4 — 1:41 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Elochoman Valley resident.
