Local credit union supports college with multi-year commitment

September 26, 2019

Fibre Federal Credit Union has partnered with selected colleges and hospitals within its field of membership for a multi-year grant program. From 2018 to 2020, Fibre Federal will distribute $87,000 in grants to four college foundations and eight hospital foundations. One of the grant recipients is the Lower Columbia College Foundation.

Funding from the multi-year grants will support their students most at-risk of abandoning their education due to financial hardship.

“Often times, students struggle with $200 or $300 to cover remaining tuition, fees, unexpected childcare expenses, and other emergent costs,” said Kendra Sprague LCC’s VP of Foundation, Human Resources, and Legal Affairs.

Every year, Fibre Federal makes numerous charitable donations to community organizations through its Community Investment Program. This program is a focused effort to use financial contributions and volunteer efforts to improve education, health services, and quality of life within its service area.
