Wahkiakum High School cross country runners traveled to Ilwaco last Thursday to compete against six other teams in the JW Black Lake XC Race.

Daniel Quintana of Ilwaco led all 45 runners in the 5,000 meter boys’ run, finishing in 18:30.5. For the Mules, Jamil Dimaano took 23rd place with a time of 23:35.5. Titan Niemela finished with a time of 24:56.9 for 29th place. Kaiden Ray was a few seconds behind, taking 30th place with a time of 25:05.59. Alex Tantum took 38th place with a time of 25:52.09.

Estella Sheldon of Ilwaco won the girls’ 5,000 meter run in a field of 28, with a time of 24:39.4. For the Mules, Alexzandria Watkins took 25h place with a time of 35:08.09, and Kimberlee Watkins took 26th place with a time of 35:13.3
