Coming Events--Community Center in Cathlamet

I hope you are all enjoying your modified summer. Somehow it seems like time is going really slow to me. Usually summer is a blink and then it’s gone, but these breezy days, spent 6 feet apart from everyone has me feeling like I am in a time-warp.

An update for the community regarding the Community Center: As you probably noticed, we are still closed to the public. As we move forward with opening, some changes and adjustments are being made including who will host it and what procedures will need to be followed in order to keep things safe for everyone. In the meantime, if you need to use a computer to work on a resume, apply for a job, look for housing or anything of that essential nature, you can contact Kelly Patterson @ 360-795-8630 option 4 to set up an appointment. That number is also located on the front door of the Community Center. As I learn more about the slow opening, I will let you know.

If your kids have been receiving Summer Lunch and they have been enjoying what they are getting, I would really love to know about it. If your child wants to write us a letter or draw us a picture as to why they love Summer Lunch, you can send them to Meadow Meeder, 42 Elochoman Valley Road, Cathlamet, WA 98612. I will post the letters and drawings on our Instagram @bewellwahkiakum.

For folks who haven’t signed up yet for free lunch all summer, it’s not too late to call me and get started. 360-751-7149. A friendly reminder that weekly changes and orders need to be called in on Mondays between 8-9:30. The volunteers that are making this happen are doing a tremendous job and if you would like to help out and spend some time with us, we’re always looking for new folks to join us!

Wahkiakum, you’re doing a good job. You matter. You can do this. ‘Keep on keeping on’, as they say. Be well this weekend and always.

“One person can make a difference, and everyone should try.” --John F. Kennedy.
