The hounds will run on Puget Island

The hounds will be running this weekend at Misty Rivers Plantation, 117 Cross Dike Road on Puget Island. The event will feature two types of Coursing Aptitude Trials: regular CATS in which the dogs chase the lure around a random course on the 10-acre field, and Fast CATS, which is a timed 100-yard dash in which each dog receives a MPH score. The event is sponsored by the Willamette Valley Basenji Club, sanctioned by the AKC, and open to all dogs, registered or mixed breed.

Due to COVID restrictions, all entries must be made on the club’s web site Willamette Valley Basenji Club (click on events). For any questions contact Judy Brawn at 360 562-1925 or Jackie at 503 806-5640.

The public and their leashed dogs are invited as spectators at no charge, and with plenty of room to observe normal pandemic precautions. Trials will run from 9 a.m., to mid afternoon on Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27. Parking is along the driveway out front, with limited handicapped parking and restrooms available on the coursing field in back.
