Falling in Erickson Park

According to Cathlamet Public Works Superintendent David McNally, the town has been logging trees at Erickson Park in response to Glengate residents' concern about trees potentially falling on their homes. Town Forester Bill Olsen has been working with a professional tree servicing company out of Longview to identify potentially dangerous trees such as those affected by disease, fungi or other factors. "Cleanup is underway and will hopefully be completed within the next couple weeks, weather dependent," McNally said. Both the public works crew and students from Kyle Hurley's agriculture/forestry class at Wahkiakum High School are a part of the effort to remove the debris. Photo by Andrew Weiler.
