Virginia Beth Shofner “Ginny,” 38, of Portland, formerly of Cathlamet, died March 6, 2021 in a Portland Hospital. She was born October 11, 1982 to Tom and Lou (Evans) Shofner in Salem, Oregon. Ginny was raised in the mountains of Colorado and was an active 4-H member and officer. She loved her horses and trail rides. As an adult she worked in landscaping and enjoyed creating beautiful outdoor spaces. She liked to sew and quilt and made her children’s Halloween costumes. She loved cooking with her children and was so proud of them.
Ginny is survived by her children Heidi, Wyatt and Dalton Bruntmyer; father, Tom Shofner; sisters, Becky Shofner and Carrie Backman; fiance, Luis Romero and his daughters, Christiana and Icelynn and many friends.
Ginny was preceded in death by her mother, Lou Evans Shofner in 2019.
A memorial service will be held at the Kalama RiverView Community Church at 5 p.m., May 10 followed by a celebration reception with refreshments at Port of Kalama Marine Park, 246 Hendrickson Drive, Kalama, WA 98625. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
