Thelma Miller

 


Thelma Marie Miller, 80, of Deep River, died January 30 at her home of 55 years. She was born in Cathlamet September 30, 1941 to Ivan and Mildred (Lindgren) Jones. She graduated from Naselle High School in 1959 and attended Business College in Portland, Oregon. On August 27, 1961 she married Bob Miller at the Naselle Congregational Church. After raising her children she went to work at Okie’s Market in Naselle in 1980. She worked there for 20 years and loved her job as produce manager. Thelma loved Christmas, her cookie jar collection, decorating for holidays, bazaars and entertaining. She collected Hallmark Christmas ornaments and loved her family time.

Thelma is survived by Bob at home, her son Glenn Miller of Naselle and three daughters June Bigelow of Shelton, Lynne Nelson of Shelton and Kim Swan of Olympia; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Irvin Jones in 1966.


There will be a graveside service at Deep River Cemetery on Saturday March 19 at 11:00 a.m., with a celebration of life to follow at the Rosburg Hall. Those who wish to donate in Thelma’s name may give to The Deep River Cemetery or The Deep River Lutheran Church. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
