Students study salmon rearing

Wahkiakum High School FFA and Career and Technical Education (CTE) students recently went to the Deep River net pens (above) and helped by releasing salmonids. The students learned how to measure FPP (fish per pound). Right: The CTE class learned about hatchery operations from Darren at the Beaver Creek Hatchery.

In other news, trap shooting team members competed in the state meet. Hank Bassi placed fourth in the game of Miss and Out; Brayden Avalon and Greydon Luce made it into the finals in Chip and Out, but sadly did not place in the top. (See related story in this edition. --editor)
