Mule wrestlers headed to Tacoma Dome

Lilian Hale and Malachi Schaefer of the Wahkiakum Mules wrestling team are headed to the Tacoma Dome this weekend for the 2B State Wrestling tournament after placing third and fifth in their regional divisions, respectively.

Two more wrestlers, McKenna Mendez and Zaya Ray, will attend the tournament as alternates and may get to join in competition as well, according to Coach Ross Lofstrom.

“All our wrestlers gave incredible effort and have been making us proud all year,” Lofstrom said. “I’m really excited for them to finish strong at state this weekend.”
