Comets top Mules in softball opener

The Wahkiakum Mules softball team hosted Naselle in their home opener on Friday, and lost to the Comets, 29-8.

“Eighth grader Evelyn Miller took the varsity mound for the first time ever and showed good composure and some great defense, compiling six putouts while racking up three strikeouts over three innings,” Coach and proud father Garrett Miller said.

On offense for the Mules, Evelyn Hogue was one for two at the plate with one RBI.

The Mules traveled to Raymond for a double header on Tuesday and on Friday, they head to Naselle for another chance at the Comets.
