October 9 — 5:25 p.m. A caller reported a domestic disturbance at a Deep River home. Deputies and state patrol responded. One person was arrested for existing warrants in Skamania County.

October 10 — 12:01 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with a possible broken hip. 5:44 am. The sheriff’s department was asked by an outside agency to be on the lookout for a stolen van that may have been used in a burglary and was last seen heading west on SR 4. 2:04 p.m. A caller asked for assistance after getting locked out of a vehicle. 2:26 p.m.

A person was seen lying on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. 2:50 p.m. A caller wanted to press charges for theft of services. 3:04 p.m. The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families alerted the sheriff’s department that they would be conducting a welfare check on minors in a Cathlamet home. 3:33 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident complaining of a stomachache and yellow vomit. 4:48 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient with an infection in both feet to the hospital. 6:14 p.m. A caller said a youth was afraid to go to school because she was being harassed by another student and the student’s parents. 8:59 p.m. A 911 call was transferred from Pacific County. Someone in the Rosburg area was reporting that one family member struck another with a vehicle. The caller was otherwise uncooperative. Deputies responded but were unable to locate the residence.

October 11 — 7:17 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who was having trouble breathing. 9:43 a.m. A caller said a student at Wahkiakum School District got off a bus and left. The school was unable to contact the parents. 11:03 a.m. The District 4 Fire Department and a deputy responded to an illegal controlled burn at an east county home. 1:01 p.m. A welfare check was requested for an Elochoman Valley resident who was making suicidal comments. After discovering that the individual was not home, law enforcement found her at work, getting help from the company’s human resources department. 3:33 p.m. A driver requested assistance after getting locked out of a vehicle. The individual called back six minutes later to say he had gained entry. 4:29 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that an unknown vehicle was parked in her driveway. Deputies responded and found someone asleep at the wheel, possibly intoxicated. The caller realized who the driver was and said they were unwelcome without an appointment. A deputy provided transport for the person. 7:27 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a pregnant Cathlamet resident who was having contractions. 7:45 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a juvenile who made suicidal comments. A deputy responded and learned the individual was headed to Longview.

October 12 — 5:49 a.m. A caller in the Rosburg area dialed 911 and then hung up. Dispatch attempted to call back three times but there was no response. State patrol responded. 6:21 a.m.

A domestic disturbance was reported at a Rosburg home. State patrol was on scene and a deputy was requested. 10:05 a.m. A caller reported the sexual abuse of a child. 2:21 p.m. A caller was concerned that someone was financially exploiting his mother. The sheriff’s department received a referral from Adult Protective Services and the caller was advised of options for trespass or court orders. 4:39 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver in a Wahkiakum School District bus. A deputy responded and spoke with the driver, who said students were unruly, disrespectful, and refused to follow bus rules. After attempting to give one a written warning, she said he became agitated and pushed past her to exit the bus, using a tote to block the door when she tried to shut it. His parents arrived and started swearing at her and making obscene gestures. The driver was advised on protection orders. No other action was taken at that time. 5:09 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was having abdominal problems and trouble breathing. 5:47 p.m. A Puget Island resident was concerned that someone had been in her home after she found herself locked out. 6:02 p.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle heading west on SR 4 from County Line Park. 10:07 p.m. A caller from a Rosedale business said a customer was requesting a jump start. At 10:22 p.m., the caller said someone was able to assist the person and the vehicle was gone.

October 13 — 12:18 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported a suspicious vehicle with its lights off going up and down his driveway. At 12:33 a.m., he called back to say the car was gone. 9:26 a.m. Two people were seen slumped over in a car parked at a logging road gate one mile west of the KM summit. While the caller was on the phone, one of the individuals woke up and got out of the car. He said they were fine, and had ran out of gas before rummaging through his trunk. The caller said he could clearly see a hunting bow and arrows in the trunk. 9:56 a.m.

A caller reported fraudulent credit card activity. 10:36 a.m. A caller reported that a student was making comments about harming herself. A deputy spoke with the youth and the school contacted a designated crisis responder to speak with her further. 11:50 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an East Valley resident complaining of chest pain and shortness of breath.

12:45 p.m. A caller reported that neighbors in Cathlamet were having a property line dispute.

1:01 p.m. A caller reported the smell of garbage burning from somewhere near 2nd Street in

Cathlamet. The Cathlamet Fire Department and a deputy responded and found a large pile of burning and smoldering grass. 4:59 p.m. A caller reported a couple parked near the intersection of SR 4 and Shannon Road in Grays River. They had been in the area for the last week and were telling people passing by that they had run out of gas. A deputy responded but was unable to locate the couple. 7:34 p.m. A Puget Island resident found her gate open. 7:44 p.m. A caller reported that a man in pajamas had a blanket wrapped around him and was heading west on SR 4 towards Cathlamet. A deputy and state patrol responded but were unable to locate the person. 8:57 p.m. A caller reported an eastbound truck on SR 4 was towing a cargo trailer without lights. 10:04 p.m. A caller reported a westbound vehicle traveling under the speed limit and swerving. The driver was stopped by a deputy.

October 14 — 1:24 a.m. A deputy spoke with an individual in front of a Rosedale business and then transported him to the Westend. 1:39 a.m. Astoria dispatch reported an open line on a 911 call from an address on Risk Road. Dispatch tried to call multiple times but there was no answer. 10:44 a.m. A former Alger Creek resident said that current owners sold some of her animals despite a verbal agreement that they could remain on the property until she could make arrangements for them. After determining it was a civil matter, no law enforcement action was taken. 12:21 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a woman leaning against a car parked In front of an Alger Creek property. A deputy responded and discovered that the vehicle was disabled and the woman was waiting for a tow. 1:50 p.m. A caller reported an illegal dumping at the KM transfer station. The caller was able to determine a possible suspect after going through the trash. 2:29 p.m. A caller said his vehicle was vandalized sometime during the night, possibly while parked at a Puget Island boat launch. 3:31 p.m. A caller reported an online ad showing two severely malnourished dogs. A deputy found the ad and planned to follow up. 3:59 p.m. A caller asked for assistance after getting locked out of a vehicle. 8:23 p.m. A caller said she was with a person who almost hit a dog on a Puget Island road. Messages were left for possible owners, and someone called back and asked that the dog be dropped off at their home on West Sunny Sands.

October 15 — 12:53 p.m. A power outage was reported in Cathlamet. The PUD was notified. 1:01 p.m. A caller requested assistance after getting locked out of a vehicle. The caller later decided to try gaining access on his own. 2:11 p.m. A caller said she tried to enter her Cathlamet home to pick up what belonged to her and her daughter, but her estranged husband refused access because he was upset about a protection order against another family member. A deputy responded and the man allowed the woman to get her things.
