Wahkiakum facebook photography page exhibit this weekend

My name is Rene' Westbrook. I live in Wahkiakum County. I am a photographer and have been doing photography for 16 years or so. It has been a long journey of learning, and I continue to learn something new every day. I share what I learn as often as I can. I have discovered that this country is so beautiful. I manage to find beauty wherever I go.

My husband Wally Nelson and I have been here for five years, but bought our property the year before we actually moved into our house. We parked our camper in the drive so we could spend time here whenever we could. In that time we drove all over this county and shared our photos via social media. It was suggested that we start a photography page on Facebook, so I did: The Wahkiakum County Photography Page.

We are having a photography exhibit on November 8-9th. It will be held at The Rat Tap at 90 Broadway Street, Cathlamet on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a "Meet the Photographer" session at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

Our photographers have chosen their favorite images and will have them on display. They are so proud of their work, and they should be. I am proud of the work they have done and the growing they have done. The pride our members have for our community is outstanding. It shows in every image they share.
