PUD report

The Wahkiakum County PUD Commissioners met on Tuesday morning. General Manager Dan Kay informed them of the approximate $7,600 renovation budget for the PUD building’s downstairs meeting room. Commissioner Jungers suggested they seek out the skills of a professional designer, and Commissioners Healy and Reid agreed.

General Manager Dan Kay informed the commissioners that he is pushing for the update on the physical feasibility draft report on the water system consolidation to be finalized. Kay briefed the Commissioners on a proposal that was brought forth at the Town Council meeting he had attended the previous night. The Town sought approval to apply for a Drinking Water State Revolving Fund construction loan of $816,000. The loan would be in addition to the $981,000 in loans the Town already owes. Commissioner Eugene Healy asked if it would be possible for the funds needed to complete the project to be included in the funding available through consolidation, to which General Manager Kay confirmed yes, it would be possible.
