May 20 10:40 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies received a report of people trespassing on a property in Grays River after having been evicted, but the caller disconnected the call. A deputy went to the property and found no one there. 11:47 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called for assistance after suffering a head injury. 3:52 p.m. A Wahkiakum County resident called to report that they had received a phone call from someone imitating a county worker and were asked their name and birthday for “legal matters” and wanted to report the scam. 7:24 a.m. A concerned citizen at the Elochoman Marina called to inform the Sheriff’s Office that an individual there was behaving strangely and asking several people for a ride to the dispensary; after being asked to stop, they returned to their tent.
May 21 6 a.m. The Puget Island Fire Department responded to assist an elderly Puget Island resident who had fallen. 11:16 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called to request a welfare check on their neighbor, who was lying on their trailer, not moving. A deputy went to check on the neighbor, who informed the deputy that they were just taking a break from weed eating. 3:15 p.m. A concerned citizen called to report suspected animal neglect of a dog whose owner had been gone for more than a day and was left with no food or water at a residence in rural Cathlamet. 11:56 p.m. Cathlamet Emergency Services administered Narcan to a Skamokawa resident who was found unconscious and later taken by Life Flight.
May 22 6 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called for the Cathlamet Ambulance for their elderly parent who was having a stroke. 12:12 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to report that they had received what they believed to be a scam phone call from someone claiming to be with Texas Police and threatening to arrest them. 3:49 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to express concern to Sheriff’s Deputies over the behavior of a neighbor on Little Island; the neighbor is reportedly a registered sex offender and has allegedly driven slowly past the caller’s house, who has children. The caller stated that this behavior was making them and other neighbors very uncomfortable. 4:52 p.m. A Skamokawa resident called to inform deputies that their elderly parent had not been seen since leaving to come to their house, only right down the road. The caller called back shortly and informed deputies that their parent had been located and was fine. 5:48 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report fraud after someone had attempted to open a credit card in their name from a different state. 7:16 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a Puget Island resident’s call to address their neighbor who was shooting crows in their backyard and spooking the horses. After speaking with the neighbor, the neighbor stated that they were just shooting at the crows to scare them away because they were causing property damage and that the caller was encouraging the crows to the area by feeding them. 8:59 p.m. The Cathlamet Emergency Services responded to assist an elderly Cathlamet resident who had slipped and hit their head. 10:59 p.m. A Cathlamet resident was transported to the hospital after being found unconscious.
May 23 The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to assist a Cathlamet resident who was having high blood pressure. 6:56 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that someone had hit their child’s vehicle the day before in a hit-and-run on Una Ave. 7:07 p.m. A caller on W SR4 called to report an erratic driver near Seal River Rd. who was swerving on and off the road and even went into the ditch. 8:03 p.m. Another caller reported seeing a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed, passing other cars in a school zone, going westbound on SR4.
May 24 12:37 a.m. The Cathlamet Emergency Services responded to transport a Skamokawa resident who ingested recreational mushrooms and had reportedly “seized a couple times.” 8:14 a.m. A Rosburg resident called to report that a water meter was spewing water on Eden Valley Rd. 12 p.m. A Cathlamet resident was transported to the hospital after experiencing chest pain. 12:23 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies received a report from a Puget Island resident who said someone was in their home after they had just returned home from vacation and found open beers on the kitchen floor in front of the fridge that they did not leave there. 12:58 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to report that someone was piling trash nearby and getting ready to burn it and requested that a deputy speak with the individual. 8:18 p.m. Multiple vehicles were reportedly doing burnouts and donuts at the East Valley and Middle Valley Road intersection.
May 25 10:30 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident called to request a welfare check on their family member, who had not responded to messages and had not been active on Facebook. 12:27 p.m. A driver on E SR4 called to report an individual walking on the side of the highway holding trash bags. The caller stated that the person seemed intoxicated and had almost stepped into the road. 12:42 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies received a call from Elochoman Valley Rd. from a resident who was complaining that their neighbor was burning plastic and it was creating a large plume of smoke. Deputies made contact with the neighbor and advised them to remove all plastic and trash from the burn pile.
