Sheriff's Report

May 26 5:21 a.m. A driver on SR4 near Miller Rd. called to report that they had struck a deer, but there were no injuries and they did not need emergency services. 11:14 a.m. A Puget Island resident called to report that three known individuals broke into their home while they were away and stole items valued at up to $6,000. The resident only wanted to document the situation and did not want the individuals charged. 12:34 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies assisted a Cathlamet resident who locked their keys in their vehicle. 3:06 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to assist an elderly Cathlamet resident who was experiencing dizziness and high blood pressure. 3:25 p.m. An elderly Grays River resident was transported to the hospital with severe abdominal pain. 3:54 p.m. A caller on SR4 reported that a stalled vehicle was blocking the eastbound lane near Riverview.

May 27 8:41 a.m. The Cathlamet Emergency Services responded to transport an elderly Skamokawa resident who was having chest pains to the hospital. 6:25 p.m. An elderly Grays River resident was transported to the hospital for convulsions.

May 28 8:20 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report an erratic driver on SR4 near Ocean Park. 9:28 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident called to report a cougar sighting on Misty River Lane. 12:18 p.m. A vehicle driving recklessly was reported on SR4 traveling westbound near Little Cape Hor Rd. 7:17 p.m. An elderly Cathlamet resident fell from a ladder and was transported to the hospital by the Cathlamet Ambulance for a suspected broken wrist and injured ankle.

May 29 1:41 p.m. A driver on SR4 called to report that a large piece of wood with nails sticking out of it was in the middle of the road near the Dollar General. 1:53 p.m. A Grays River resident called to report trespassers on their property, and a deputy was requested to respond. 15:14 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that, after ongoing problems regarding property lines, their neighbor was allegedly being aggressive towards their children. 7:27 p.m. A caller on SR4 requested a welfare check on an individual at the Nassa Point Hotel who was sitting in their vehicle alone and appeared to be very confused.

May 30 12:31 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to report that their dog ran off their property that morning and was missing. The owner called later and reported that they had recovered their pet. 3:09 p.m. A Deep River resident called to request additional traffic enforcement on Upper Naselle Rd. due to erratic drivers frequently going at high rates of speed. 4:44 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded after a verbal disagreement between individuals at the Elochoman Valley Marina over a boat resulted in one party macing the other. The individual who was maced was able to wash their eyes out and declined medical attention.5:48 p.m. A driver on SR4 called to report that a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed passed them unsafely and almost caused an accident while heading westbound near the west end passing lanes. 10:02 A Cathlamet resident called to report that they lost their bass guitar near the Elochoman Valley Bridge or the small bridge nearby. Deputies found the item and the owner will pick it up. 10:30 p.m. The intrusion alarm was activated at the Cathlamet Post Office, but when deputies arrived, they found nothing missing and the doors were still locked.

May 31 10:34 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called to request an ambulance for their elderly parent, who was ill and acting incoherently. 11:16 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to transport a Cathlamet resident who was experiencing chest pains to the hospital. 1:17 p.m. The Grays River Fire Department responded to assist a runner with an injured knee who was sitting on the side of the SR4 near Wainamo Rd. 4:20 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident called to report that, while riding on their quad, they yielded for their neighbor, and the neighbor then swerved and hit them with their truck. 4:31 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that packages had been stolen from their mailbox and that the security part of the mailbox was damaged. When deputies arrived, they discovered that the caller had been checking the wrong mailbox, and their packages were still in their own mailbox. 7:56 p.m. A concerned caller on SR4 reported that a driver traveling eastbound who asked for directions appeared to be under the influence and had children in the vehicle.

June 1 12:29 a.m. A Skamokawa resident called to report they had been assaulted by an individual they knew while in a Skamokawa business. 7:38 a.m. A caller at a Cathlamet gas station reported that an unknown vehicle had been sitting at a pump since 4 a.m. Deputies inspected the vehicle and found a note on the windshield stating the vehicle needed a jump start and that the driver would be back. 11:53 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of trespassing on Weyerhaeuser property off of SR4 West but did not find anyone when they arrived. 12:31 p.m. Reports came in of an erratic individual holding a pool stick was flagging people down on Main Street in Cathlamet. 5:17 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to complain that whatever their neighbors were burning was creating a noxious smell. 7:52 p.m. Cathlamet Emergency Services responded to assist a Skamokawa resident who was experiencing abdominal pain. 8:54 p.m. During a routine traffic stop in Rosburg, Sheriff’s deputies arrested a driver who had a felony warrant out for their arrest.
