Thank You Mayor Olson

To The Eagle,

I want to say Thank You Mayor Olson for all you have done and tried to do for the residents of Cathlamet. During your time in office, you have worked tirelessly to make improvements to our sweet little town. Unfortunately, you have had to deal with folks that vehemently opposed your efforts and did so with name calling, false accusations and down-right disrespect.

Whenever possible, you have shown up to support all the local causes and small organizations events. I personally always appreciated your eloquence and words of encouragement on these occassions. You deserved more recognition for your efforts than was given. Being mayor can be a thankless job but you always kept a brave front and your demeanor professional.

It is regrettable but understandable that you will not be running for re-election.

Please know that many of us here in town are thankful for your time in office and wish you all the best in your next chapter. Whatever it is, I hope it brings you joy and fulfillment.
