Sheriff's Report

Aug 4 10:08 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a possible missing person in the Grays River area. Friends of the individual reported that the individual called them and said he could see the Covered Bridge, but was on a logging road halfway off an embankment and his phone was going straight to voicemail. Clatsop County Search and Rescue confirmed they had located the missing person. 1:18 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that they had lost their cell phone, which was in a black case, near S Welcome Slough Road. 4:24 p.m. A Driver on W Birnie Slough Road called to report that they had hit a baby deer and it was still alive but was lying on the side of the road. 6:18 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to report that there was an injured bird in the middle of SR409 near Welcome Slough Road that looked like it had been hit by a car. 8:10 p.m. After finding a dog on their property, a Puget Island resident called to see about getting the dog picked up, as they could not keep the dog. The caller was informed that they would need to post on Facebook or contact WAAG. 8:38 p.m. The Cathlamet Emergency Services responded to assist a Cathlamet resident who was possibly having a seizure.

Aug 5 5:50 p.m. A Rosburg resident called to complain about their neighbors dog who allegedly chased their child on their scooter and caused them to crash into a ditch. The caller said this is an ongoing problem and that the animal has become more aggressive, and any talks with the neighbor have been fruitless. 7:29 p.m. The Grays River Ambulance transported an elderly Rosburg resident to the hospital for dizziness and vomiting.

Aug 6 4:34 a.m. A Puget Island resident was transported to the hospital after calling and complaining of “feeling strange.”

Aug 7 3:20 p.m. The Grays River Ambulance responded to a car accident on SR4 in Skamokawa. No injuries were reported. 6:11 p.m. A Driver on SR4 near Nelson Creek Road called to report that a vehicle in front of them was pulling a boat trailer and one of the rear wheels looked like it was about to fall off. 6:56 p.m. A Caller on SR4 reported that a parked truck was obstructing the westbound lane near County Line Park.

Aug 8 4:57 a.m. A driver on SR4 called to report that a dead deer was blocking the westbound lane near Nassa Point. 12:07 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to report that a four-wheeler was racing up and down the road at a high rate of speed. 7:30 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report a driver who seemed to be intoxicated heading towards the Puget Island Bridge. 9:09 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance transported an elderly Cathlamet Resident to the hospital for illness. 9:21 p.m. Deputies responded to a report of theft at a Roseburg residence; the caller stated that unknown individuals drove up, took some items from the yard, and left. The caller’s father followed the vehicle and was able to retrieve their items. 9:39 p.m. A car hit a deer on SR4 near West Valley Road; no injuries were reported.

Aug 9 9:13 a.m. A Rosburg resident called to report that one of her goats was missing, and she was concerned that someone had stolen it since there were no breaks in the fencing and there had been previous break-in attempts at her residence. 3:43 p.m. A concerned citizen called to report three motorcycles going at a high rate of speed on SR4 near Steamboat Slough Road. 8:01 p.m. The Grays River Ambulance responded to assist someone who had been stung by bees and was allergic.

Aug 10 1:33 p.m. A disabled vehicle was partially blocking the eastbound lane on SR4 near Maple Ridge Road. 2:07 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to assist an elderly Puget Island Resident who had fallen. 2:53 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report animal neglect on a neighbor who had seven dogs that looked undernourished. 3:06 p.m. A driver on SR4 reported a tree blocking the westbound lane near Maple Ridge Road. 6:06 p.m. A caller reported seeing someone at County Line Park deflate the front and rear tires of a vehicle and then drive away when he saw the caller watching. 7:06 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to report that people were stealing apples from her yard, and it was a recurring issue. She would like them trespassed from her property. 9:29 p.m. A driver hit a deer on SR3 near County Line Park; the driver was uninjured. 9:53 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident called to report that their neighbor was trespassing on their property.
