Pfc. and Mrs. Monty McGough are parents of a baby girl, Melody Joyce, born September 15. She joins brother Ronnie, 3 years, at home. Proud grandparents are Marie McGough and Mr. and Mrs.Ralph Olmstead.

A baby shower for Jannie McGough and baby daughter Melody Joyce was hosted by Clara Berkshire and Helen King last Wednesday evening. Thirty-four people attended, and prize winners during the evening were Candy Magnuson, Elaine Larson and Frieda Footh.

Mrs. Joanne Hansen and daughter Peggy, and Mrs. Florence Paaso of Astoria were Thursday visitors at the home of Mrs. A. M. Elliot. Peggy attended college in France last winter.

Louise Meyer and Mrs. A. M. Elliot attended a 95th birthday party held for Josephine Elliot in Astoria on Sept. 20.

Mr. and Mrs. Duffy Larson spent last weekend in Brookings, Ore. They visited with Mrs. Gunnar Larson.

Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Mattson of Longview visited with Sylvia and George Wiitala last Sunday. The two women are sisters.

Noralee Wirkkala and Lenore Sorenson had lunch in Longview last Thursday with Ellen Wirkkala and Wilma Bond.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Harding of Seaside visited at the Ed Sorenson home last Wednesday.

Attending the annual P. U. D. picnic at Cathlamet city park last Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Starr, Mr. and Mrs. John King, Sr. and Jean Calhoun.

Visiting at the Grant Olson home last weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Ashbaugh of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Bedell and family of Boise, Idaho, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Olson and family of Vancouver.

A wedding reception for newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lehr of Portland was held at the Donald Raistakka home in Portland last Saturday. Mrs. Lehr is the former Sadie Raistakka, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Raistakka. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Johnson and daughter Sharon, Mr. and Mrs. Robbi Johnson and daughters, and Mrs. Wiljo Saari of Naselle. The Herman Raistakkas visited with Mr. and Mrs. Roland Kling of Portland on Sunday and were driven home by the Klings.
