Author Talk presents Hillary Lauren Saturday, Nov. 22

For its sixth installment of Author Talk, Cathlamet Public Library presents an evening with hillary lauren on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Pioneer Community Center (125 Columbia St.). Author Talk features local area writers whose work has been published.

lauren will be highlighting her book "366 Menus of Celebration," which reflects on her years of passion for creating various food dishes. The author provides a choose-your-own-adventure collection of stories featuring various memories, joyful celebrations, and bright spots from those who earn their living while playing with food.

lauren is a fifth generation chef with a passion for seasonality, sustainability, and raising awareness of the impact of food security. Her culinary endeavors grew from watching and taking notes of her grandma's cooking at her family's cafes in Idaho. lauren later honed her skills at Culinary Institute of America and Bouchon Bakery and Swanson Vineyards.

lauren lives on Puget Island and, when not exploring recipes in her kitchen, she might be checking-out her garden, reading a book in a cozy nook, scanning grocery shelves and market stalls, or foraging wild edibles.

Copies of "366 Menus of Celebration" will be available for purchase during Saturday's event. Parking may be a challenge, please arrive early.
