Visit

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Tibbs spent some time recently visiting with his daughter, Ada Waymaire, and three boys, and with her brother. Ted Porter

Home From Hospital

Ray Fields returned home from a Longview hospital last week after a two week stay. He is recuperating at home and doing much better.

Vacation

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Frink returned Sunday evening after spending a two week vacation in California. They left October 31 and drove to Sacramento to visit his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Les Frink, and their niece and nephew. Then heading south their route took them to Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs where they spent some time with Mr. and Mrs. Stan Waldo and Daisy Ashton. While in that area they took in sites such as the aerial tram ride up Mt. Jacinto, Salton Sea, the Joshua Tree National Monument and much hiking and exploring the desert.

After enjoying the “warm” 96-98 degree temperatures the snow felt a bit cold as they returned home Sunday!

Home on Leave

Ed Ward, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ward, was home on leave from San Diego. Ward, now a Marine PFC will be stationed in Baltimore, Maryland and leaves Friday.

Visitors

Recent visitors at the Charles Ward home for the wedding of Ed Ward were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Carriker and children of Longview, Mrs. Chuck Ward of Longview, and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Baldridge of Yakima. Mrs. Baldridge is a sister of Charles Ward.

From Winlock

Mr. and Mrs. Vern Jacobson and son Mickey of Winlock were visiting at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Jacobson.

Seniors to Oregon

A busload of 38 Senior Citizens took a tour of Portland last Wednesday. The trip led them to the Georgia Pacific Logging museum, an art showing, and Washington Square near Beaverton. There were eight local persons who joined the Longview busload and they were Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Jones, Borghild Ronning, Helga Head, Mayme Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brown and Mrs. John Holland.

Celebrate Birthday

Mrs. Jane Akers, Ralph and Eleanor Taylor were dinner guests of the De Gandis is Seaside Sunday to celebrate Mrs. Akers’ (85th) Birthday.

In Hospital

Bethenia Foster was taken to St. John’s hospital Friday. Mrs. Foster would welcome get well wishes and visits from her friends.

No Sleep Party

A “non-slumber” party was held at the Assembly of God church basement on Friday with 13 attending. The 10 girls there were Corina Hoven, Corina Douglas, Lisa Sechler, Lisa Robinson, Judy Paulsen, Darla Davenport, Michelle Ross, Kim Wright, Vickie Melton and Kathy Florek. Their three sponsors were Sandy Douglas, Elaine Robinson and Dorothy Davenport. This was the Missionette group of the church.
